Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 22, 2026

Baby Nova (“Baby Nova,” the “App”) is published by D2X Enterprises LLC (“D2X Enterprises,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Baby Nova is a free, parent- and guardian-facing tool for tracking a child’s developmental milestones, based on publicly available checklists from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

This Privacy Policy explains what information Baby Nova handles, where that information lives, and the choices you have. The single most important thing to understand is this: the information you enter about your child is stored only on your own device. We do not have a server that receives it, we cannot see it, and we never upload, sell, rent, or share it.

1. Summary in plain language

  • Baby Nova has no user accounts and no login. You do not create an account to use it.
  • Everything you record about your child — name, birth date, gender, avatar (initials or an optional profile photo), milestone progress, and vaccination records — is stored only on your device. It is never transmitted to us or to anyone else.
  • Baby Nova is free and contains no advertising.
  • The App includes optional, anonymous usage statistics that are turned OFF by default. They are collected only if you deliberately turn them on. Even then, they never include your child’s name, birth date, photo, vaccination records, or any per-child identifier.
  • You can erase everything at any time with the “Delete all data” control, or by uninstalling the App.

2. Information stored on your device (not collected by us)

When you use Baby Nova, you may enter or attach the following about one or more children:

  • Child profile details: the child’s name, date of birth, gender, and an avatar (either automatically generated initials or an optional profile photo).
  • Profile photo: an optional avatar image for a child, captured with your device camera or selected from your photo library. The selected image is copied into the App’s private storage area, resized and compressed on your device, and kept there. If you do not add a photo, the App uses a simple initials avatar instead.
  • Milestone progress: which developmental milestones you have marked, and related tracking data.
  • Vaccination records: which vaccine doses you have marked as given for a child, and the dates you record for them. This is health-related information about your child.
  • App settings: your chosen language, display preferences, reminder setting, and analytics choice.

All of the above is stored locally on your device using the operating system’s standard app storage (device key-value storage and the App’s private file area for photos). This information:

  • is not sent to D2X Enterprises;
  • is not uploaded to any cloud service, backend, or server;
  • is not synced across devices;
  • is not accessible to us; and
  • remains under your control and stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.

Because this information never reaches us, we cannot retrieve it, restore it, or produce it. If you uninstall the App or delete the data, it is gone.

3. Optional, anonymous usage analytics

To understand how Baby Nova is used and to improve it, the App offers an optional analytics feature labeled in Settings as “Share anonymous usage stats.”

This feature is OFF by default. No analytics data is collected unless you affirmatively turn it on. You can turn it back off at any time in Settings, and doing so stops further collection immediately.

What analytics processor we use. When enabled, analytics are processed by PostHog, an analytics provider. Data is sent to PostHog’s European Union (EU) region infrastructure (hosted at eu.i.posthog.com). See Section 7 (International users and data residency).

What is sent when analytics is on. Only anonymous, aggregate, non-identifying information about how the App is used, such as:

  • anonymous event names (for example, that a screen was viewed or a milestone was marked);
  • non-identifying, aggregate properties expressed as categories or counts — for example, an age band, a developmental domain, the number of children in the App, or the selected app language; and
  • an anonymous, randomly assigned device-level identifier used only to distinguish one anonymous installation from another. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or any real-world identity.

What is NEVER sent, even when analytics is on. The following are explicitly excluded from analytics and never leave your device:

  • your child’s name;
  • your child’s birth date;
  • your child’s profile photo;
  • your child’s vaccination records; and
  • any per-child identifier. Where a child identifier would otherwise appear in an internal analytics path, it is stripped and replaced with a neutral placeholder before anything is recorded, so no individual child can be singled out through analytics.

In short, analytics tells us that features are used and how often, never who your child is or what you recorded or photographed about your child.

4. Legal basis and consent model (for users in the EU/EEA, UK, and similar jurisdictions)

  • On-device child information (Section 2): This information is processed solely on your device by software running under your control. We do not collect, receive, or act as a controller of this information. It never enters our systems.
  • Optional analytics (Section 3): Our legal basis is your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). Consent is obtained through the opt-in toggle, which is off unless and until you switch it on. You may withdraw consent at any time by switching the toggle off in Settings; withdrawal is as easy as giving consent and does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

For processing that does occur (optional analytics), the data controller is:

D2X Enterprises LLC Email: [email protected] Attn: Baby Nova — Privacy Pennsylvania, United States

Where required, subject-rights requests (access, correction, deletion, objection, restriction, portability) can be sent to the address above. Because analytics data is anonymous and not linked to your identity, we may be unable to associate a given data point with you; in that case we will explain this and, where you can provide information that lets us locate relevant data, we will act on it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

5. Children’s information and our COPPA / GDPR posture

Baby Nova is designed as a tool for parents and guardians to record information about a child’s development. It is not directed to or intended for use by children, and its content and interface are aimed at adults tracking a child’s milestones.

  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. More fundamentally, we do not collect a child’s personal information from anyone: the child profile details, profile photo, and vaccination records you enter stay on your device and are never transmitted to us. Because this information never reaches us, we do not receive, store, or process children’s personal information on our servers.
  • U.S. — COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act): The information you record about a child is entered by you, the parent or guardian, and remains under your control on your own device. It is not collected online by us. The optional analytics feature is anonymous, excludes all child information and any per-child identifier, and is controlled by the adult using the App.
  • EU/EEA and UK — GDPR “children’s data”: Any personal data relating to a child that you enter is processed only locally on your device and is not collected by us. The optional analytics we may process under your consent contains no child-identifying data.
  • If you are a parent or guardian and have questions about how the App handles a child’s information, contact us at [email protected].

6. Device permissions and why the App requests them

Baby Nova requests only the permissions needed for features you choose to use. You can grant or deny each permission in your device settings.

PermissionWhy the App asksWhat leaves your device
CameraTo capture a profile photo (avatar) for your child.Nothing. The photo is saved to the App’s private storage on your device.
Photos / media libraryTo let you pick an existing image from your gallery to use as your child’s profile photo (avatar).Nothing. The selected image is copied into the App’s private storage on your device.
NotificationsTo show local reminders on your device (for example, a gentle nudge to check milestones).Nothing. These are local notifications only. Baby Nova does not use push or remote notifications and does not register or transmit any push/notification token.

Denying a permission simply disables the related feature; the rest of the App continues to work.

7. International users and data residency

Baby Nova is offered from the United States and is available in multiple languages, including right-to-left languages such as Arabic and Urdu.

  • The on-device information described in Section 2 does not cross any border in transit to us, because it is never transmitted to us at all. Where that information physically resides is wherever your device is.
  • The optional analytics described in Section 3, when you enable it, is processed on PostHog infrastructure located in the European Union (EU) region. If you are located outside the EU (including in the United States), enabling analytics means the anonymous analytics data is processed on servers in the EU.

By enabling the optional analytics feature, you consent to this processing arrangement.

8. How we do NOT use your information

  • We do not sell your information, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are used under U.S. state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act.
  • We do not use your child’s information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond the on-device functionality you use.
  • We do not show ads in Baby Nova.
  • We do not build advertising or marketing profiles about you or your child.

9. Third parties

  • Analytics processor — PostHog: Used only if you enable analytics, and only for the anonymous data described in Section 3, processed in the EU region. PostHog acts as our processor for that limited data.
  • Operating system providers: Your device’s operating system (for example, the maker of your phone or the app store you downloaded from) provides the camera, photo library, notification, and storage functions the App relies on. Your use of those functions is governed by that provider’s own terms and privacy practices.

Aside from the limited, consent-based analytics above, no third party receives your information from Baby Nova.

10. Data retention

  • On-device information: Kept on your device until you remove it — by using the “Delete all data” control, by deleting individual items in the App, or by uninstalling the App. We set no separate retention period because we never hold this information.
  • Optional analytics: Retained by our analytics processor for the period reasonably necessary for the analytics purpose, after which it is deleted or aggregated. Because analytics data is anonymous, it is not tied to your identity.

11. Your controls and choices

  • Analytics opt-out: Turn “Share anonymous usage stats” off in Settings at any time to stop collection.
  • Delete all data: Use the “Delete all data” control to permanently remove every child profile, milestone, vaccination record, and photo from your device. This action also resets your analytics consent to off. It cannot be undone.
  • Delete individual items: Remove specific children, or unmark individual milestone and vaccination entries, within the App.
  • Uninstall: Removing the App from your device removes the App’s on-device data.
  • Permissions: Grant or revoke Camera, Photos, and Notifications permissions at any time in your device settings.

12. Security

Because your child’s information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us, it is protected primarily by your device’s own security — for example, your screen lock, device encryption, and the operating system’s app-sandboxing, which keeps the App’s private storage separate from other apps. We encourage you to secure your device with a passcode or biometric lock. For the limited optional analytics we process, we rely on our analytics processor’s technical and organizational security measures.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, to reflect new features or changes in applicable requirements. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” at the top and post the updated version at:

https://d2xenterprises.com/services/mobile-apps/baby-nova/privacy-policy/

Material changes will be reflected there. Your continued use of the App after an update takes effect means you accept the updated Policy.
